Procedure for Patients Visiting the Practice

Before visiting the Practice please read these Guidelines and Procedures,
and phone if you have any questions on 02476 675 885.

To follow Social Distancing rules and to keep yourself and the staff safe and well, we have to restrict the number of people in the Practice at any one time. Please follow the advice of the staff at all times.

  • Please attend the practice on your own. Anyone accompanying you will be asked to wait outside. If you need assistance please advise our staff before your appointment so we can arrange this.
  • Please be on time for your appointment. If you are too early, we may need you to wait outside or in your car. If you are late, we may not be able to see you.
  • The front door will be closed and locked. Please knock, attract the attention of the staff and they will let you in, or ask you to wait until it is safe to enter.
  • All staff will be wearing appropriate PPE - please don't be alarmed at our new appearance!
  • A face covering should be worn in the practice, especially if attending for an eye examination or to see the Dispensing Optician. If you do not have your own, we will supply a mask but this will be charged to you at cost price (£1) due to the shortage of PPE.
  • The Optician will phone you between 9-10am on the morning of your eye test appointment to collect information relevant to your eye examination. Please be available for the phone call.
  • Please use the sanitizing hand gel provided on entering and exiting the building. There will be gel available at several points to be used as needed.
  • Social Distancing advice should always be followed where possible.
  • Please, always follow the advice of the staff; it is for everyone’s safety.
  • No toilet facilities will be available at the practice.

If you have or develop any COVID-19 symptoms

DO NOT come to the Practice but contact NHS 111

We ask for your patience and understanding in these extraordinary times.
We are sorry we won't be able to be as chatty as we would like, but reducing contact time keeps everyone safe.
We will not, however, compromise on the standards of care at Kate Hattersley Opticians.

Thank you
