Kate Hattersley Opticians is a family run independent opticians who pride themselves in offering high levels of friendly customer service, value for money and honest advice. Our experienced staff all share a common goal - looking after your eyesight.

Staff

Kate Hattersley BSc (Hons) MCOptom is a qualified Optometrist (Ophthalmic Optician) who took over the practice in June 2004. Prior to running the practice, Kate worked at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital (UHCW), St James’s Hospital in Leeds and taught at both Bradford University and Aston University. Kate conducts full eye examinations and has recently invested in a state-of-the-art OCT scanner which enables imaging beneath the retinal surface, thus allowing eye conditions to be identified at an earlier and more treatable stage.  She also fits contact lenses and carries out the after-care appointments which are vital to ensure the eyes remain healthy while wearing lenses. 

Kate is registered for the NHS Eye Care Service in Coventry and provides treatment for dry eyes, red eyes and other conditions.

Helen Bamford FBDO and Chantelle Vardy-Jones FBDO are the qualified Dispensing Opticians. Their role is to select suitable frames for you (meaning the frame fits and suits you in colour, shape/style, budget and is appropriate for your prescription); provide impartial advice on the most appropriate lenses for your prescription, budget and individual needs; advice on the need for any coatings on the lenses; adjusting the frame on collection to ensure it is comfortable to wear; advice on how the lenses work and how they should be used eg. varifocals and bifocals; repairs to spectacles. We are happy to source a frame if you have a particular design/colour in mind.

Sue Butler BSc (Hons) MCOptom and Nicky Stubbs BSc (Hons) MCOptom are also qualified Optometrists and work at the practice and have been part of the team for many years. Just like Kate, they conduct full eye examinations, OCT scans and contact lens assessments.
